Design Features
- —Certified for use in Safety Integrity Level (SIL 3) applications
- —Two-piece bolted body for ease of field service and maintenance
- —Wide, flexible, self-relieving seat provides automatic internal cavity relief
- —O-ring free body seal design extends the temperature range and reduces media-compatibility concerns; other o-rings are AED (anti-explosive decompression) rated
- —Independent dual body seals and triple independent low-emission stem seals
- —Double anti-static stem (ball-to-stem and stem-to-body) for electrical continuity
- —Firesafe design per API 607 and ISO 10497
- —Blowout-proof stem with RPTFE thrust washer for low operating torque
- —Seat materials: RPTFE (15-20% carbon fiber) in Class 150 & 300, Devlon V in Class 600-1500
- —Adjustable, field-replaceable graphite stem packing with a two-bolt gland flange
- —Gear operators and lifting lugs standard on 6" bore and larger
- —Exceeds ASME B16.34 minimum wall thickness requirements
- —Optional HP-ENP™ high-phosphorus electroless nickel trim upgrade — harder and less porous than standard ENP or 316 stainless trim

High-Pressure Pneumatic Shell Test
For all cast steel gate, globe, and check valves, as well as cast trunnion and floating ball valves, RANGER-FZV submerges the completed, uncoated valve in water and pressure tests the casting with nitrogen or compressed air. Pinholes or casting deficits invisible to a standard hydrotest are revealed as bubbles in the water — castings have failed this test after passing hydrotest.
