Design Features
- —Certified for use in Safety Integrity Level (SIL 3) applications
- —Locking device prevents valve misoperation
- —Stem-flyout prevention design guards against abnormal cavity pressurization
- —Fireproof and antistatic design
- —Self-relieving, DIB-1, or DIB-2 seat design available depending on service
- —All sizes and classes are double block and bleed capable per API 6D, with a drain valve for the block-and-bleed function or to verify seat integrity during maintenance
- —Emergency stem and seat sealant injection ports on all sizes and classes
- —Buried check valve beneath the sealant injection fitting lets a damaged fitting be replaced without re-hydro testing the valve body
- —Anti-blowout stem per API 6D with dual anti-static springs
- —ISO 5211 mounting pad for ease of automation
- —Lockable handle or gear standard per API 608
- —Cryogenic designs and metal-seated severe-service options available
- —Optional HP-ENP™ high-phosphorus electroless nickel trim upgrade — harder and less porous than standard ENP or 316 stainless trim

High-Pressure Pneumatic Shell Test
For all cast steel gate, globe, and check valves, as well as cast trunnion and floating ball valves, RANGER-FZV submerges the completed, uncoated valve in water and pressure tests the casting with nitrogen or compressed air. Pinholes or casting deficits invisible to a standard hydrotest are revealed as bubbles in the water — castings have failed this test after passing hydrotest.
