Reference
Design Standard
- API 623
- ASME B16.34
- BS 1873
- API 598
- ISO 5208
Design Features
- —Seat and clack sealing faces are build-up welded with hard alloy to improve erosion resistance and extend service life
- —Clack available in taper, needle, ball, or parabola types for flow-rate adjustment
- —Pressure self-sealing bonnet design — the higher the pressure, the better the seal
- —Rising stem gives a clear visual indication of valve position
- —Stem threads isolated from the process medium to reduce corrosion
- —Short stroke design suited to positions with frequent cycling
- —Can meet the Class A sealing test requirements of ISO 15848 FE

Unique to Ranger
High-Pressure Pneumatic Shell Test
For all cast steel gate, globe, and check valves, as well as cast trunnion and floating ball valves, RANGER-FZV submerges the completed, uncoated valve in water and pressure tests the casting with nitrogen or compressed air. Pinholes or casting deficits invisible to a standard hydrotest are revealed as bubbles in the water — castings have failed this test after passing hydrotest.
